National Instruments 782353-01 8-Channel PXI Counter/Timer Module

The National Instruments 782353-01 (PXIe‑6614) is an advanced 8-channel PXI counter/timer module designed for high precision applications. The model offers a broad range of functionalities including encoder position measurement, event counting and pulse width measurement. This module is equipped with 32 bit resolution counters/timers that allow for accurate and reliable data acquisition in demanding environments. The model contains 8 counters and has a measure frequency of 80 MHz. The integration of an oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) enhances the stability of the measurements and ensures exceptional accuracy over extended periods. This module features a versatile digital I/O with a total of 40 channels that are individually programmable as input or output.

The digital I/O supports a waveform generation FIFO for digital output with a capacity of up to 2,047 samples and digital input FIFO with a capacity of 255 samples. This provides efficient data streaming and waveform generation capabilities. The sample clock frequency ranges from 0 to 10 MHz depending on the system and bus activity. This ensures flexibility in data transfer methods including DMA and programmed I/O. The module offers programmable digital line filters with selectable settings for noise reduction and signal conditioning. The timing I/O functionality of the 782353-01 allows the user to utilize the PFI lines for static digital input/output, timing input/output and other timing operations. It supports multiple debounce filter settings that can be customized to fit specific application needs which is essential for managing noise and ensuring precise timing signals. The module also includes a frequency generator with selectable base clocks of 100 kHz, 10 MHz and 20 MHz which can be output through any PFI, PXI_TRIG, or PXIe-DSTARC. 

The NI 782353-01 is compliant with the PXI Express hardware specification and is compatible with various PXI Express slots that include hybrid and system timing slots. The module's environmental specifications include operational temperatures ranging from 0 to 55 °C and relative humidity tolerance from 10 % to 90 %. This ensures reliability in a wide range of operating conditions.
