PXIe-8842, 8 GB Memory, 4 PXIe Expansion Slots, 6 Core PXI Controller
National Instruments PXIe-8842 PXI Controller
The PXIe-8842 (Part Numbers: 787882-00, 787882-01, 787882-0118, 787882-33, 788816-01, 788816-0118) is an advanced embedded controller designed by National Instruments for PXI systems and engineered to handle processor-intensive tasks in modular instrumentation and data acquisition environments. It has a powerful Intel® CoreTM i5-11500HE CPU, which is augmented by a 12 MB Smart Cache, ensuring fast processing for demanding applications.
This controller has 8 GB of standard memory, which can be expanded to 16 GB by using single-channel DDR4-3200 MHz non-ECC SODIMM modules. A spacious 512 GB (or greater) M.2 NVMe SSD meets storage requirements, providing quick data access and plenty of room to store critical information.
With two i225 Ethernet ports that support different speeds (10M/100M/1000M/2.5G Base-T), one mini-GPIB port for IEEE 488 control, and one DisplayPort 1.4 port for video output, the PXIe-8842 enables seamless connectivity. In addition, it has four Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port, and one DB-9 serial port for flexible peripheral interfacing.
The PXIe-8842 controller guarantees effective data transfer within the PXI system since it has a PCI Express Link Speed of 5.0 GT/s and PXI Express configurations of x4 and x8. It also offers a PXI Trigger Bus Input/Output via a single SMB connector, enhancing synchronization capabilities across instruments.
The controller may run at +3.3V, +5V, +12V, and +5Vaux voltages. Its maximum current can vary from 2.6A to 7.1A, which guarantees steady operation within predetermined bounds.
To meet the needs of a variety of application scenarios, this controller supports a number of operating systems, including Linux RT, Windows 10 IoT, and Windows 11 IoT. An additional degree of security is provided by the optional Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, which is offered in versions for both the Chinese and international markets.
The PXIe-8842, which was constructed in accordance with industry standards, occupies one system slot and three controller expansion slots in PXI Express Specification 1.0 systems with ease. Its compact, lightweight design, weighing only 753g (1.66 lb) typical, makes it ideal for space-constrained environments.
The PXIe-8842 is built to work in a variety of environmental conditions, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C and a relative humidity range of 10% to 90%. Its sturdy construction guarantees robustness against half-sine, random vibrations within predetermined boundaries, and operating shocks up to 30 g peak.
