National Instruments PXI-7813R PXI Digital Reconfigurable I/O Module
The NI PXI-7813R Digital Reconfigurable I/O Module (Part Numbers: 779362-01, 188744F-03L) from National Instruments (NI) has 160 bidirectional Digital I/O lines and 3 DMA channels. Built with a user-programmable FPGA, the PXI-7813R is an excellent choice for onboard computing or operating flexible I/O. The digital I/O lines of the device can be configured independently, including as input, output, counter/timer, or more. This Reconfigurable I/O Module is an excellent choice for a wide range of applications that require exact timing and control, including high-speed waveform synthesis, sensor simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and more. The device features four 68-pin high-density female VHDCI connectors.
The PXI-7813R is intended to be used in conjunction with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module as a single-point digital I/O. Application development environments such as LabVIEW and the LabVIEW Real-Time Module are used to build applications that govern the I/O module, while LabVIEW and the LabVIEW FPGA Module are used in programming the NI PXI-7813R. The reconfigurable FPGA of the module is a Virtex-II V3000 FPGA type, featuring 17,238 kbits of embedded block RAM. It is equipped with 96 18×18 multipliers and has 28,672 flip-flops.
The bus interface of the I/O module is a master/slave type with DMA data transfers. These transfers have interrupts and preprogrammed I/O. The typical power required by the device at 5 VDC is 9 mA, and it is 850 mA at 3.3 VDC. Physically, the device measures dimensions of 6.3 in. by 3.9 in. (16 cm by 10 cm). when not including the connectors, and it weighs in at 152 g.
