National Instruments 779474-01 Isolated Counter/Timer Module

Part Number 779474-01 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments SCC-CTR01 Isolated Counter/Timer Module. It works as an isolation module for general-purpose timers/counters on DAQ devices. 

The 779474-01 features two input channels and supports any input waveforms. The maximum input frequency and the minimum pulse width are 400 kHz and 1µs respectively. Likewise, it supports an input voltage of up to 48 VDC and has reverse and overvoltage protection of ±60 VDC. The current limit on the isolated inputs is 10 mA max when used in the operating temperature range. Furthermore, for a 5V input signal, the propagation delay during LOW to HIGH and HIGH to LOW is 180 ns and 150 ns respectively. 

On the other hand, the 779474-01 has a single output channel and supports a load voltage range of 5 to 48 VDC. The maximum output frequency and the minimum output pulse width are the same as the inputs. The switching and inrush currents are 100 mA (max) and 600 mA (max) respectively. With short circuit protection, the output stays off if the current exceeds a defined limit (0.6 A min, 1.1 A max). It retries to operate every 250 ms and recovers automatically once the short is removed. The reverse and overvoltage protection on the output and Vdd pins is ± 60 VDC max. 

 The 779474-01 measures 3.50 in. × 1.15 in. × 0.73 in. in physical dimensions and weighs 1.0 oz. Likewise, it features a single 20-pin right-angle male connector and a single 7-pin screw terminal as I/O connectors. The field-wiring diameter is between 28 to 16 AWG. When connected to a +5V rail, the module consumes a maximum digital power of 140 mW. 

The 779474-01 is recommended for operation at a temperature range of 0 to 50 °C at a relative humidity of 10 to 90% RH and a maximum altitude of 2000 m. On the other hand, it can be stored at a wider temperature range of –20 to 70 °C.
