National Instruments 777458-01 Connector Block
The National Instruments 777458-01 is a shielded SC-2345 connector block carrier that is one of the most basic components used in a modular method of signal conditioning for the data acquisition systems. The SC-2345 Connector Block with the SCC-PWR01 power module has been designed so it may be powered using either the +5VDC line available at the DAQ device being utilized or an external 5VDC source. A small profile enclosure, the 777458-01 was built to serve as the connection point between a 68-pin E/M Series DAQ device and up to twenty SCC series signal-conditioning blocks. It provides per channel conditioning for improved signal quality when utilizing laptops and desktops.
The 777458-01 carrier contains twenty socket locations for SCC modules and there are two types of signal routing provided. There are eight analog input channel conditioning sockets designated J1-J8. The remaining twelve sockets, J9-J16, allow the user to choose whether to utilize them for dual-stage analog input conditioning or digital I/O modules. The last three sockets J17-J20 will connect to analog outputs and counters/timers. In order to have a means of accessing digital signals, the connector block also has a 42 position screw type terminal block that connects to the DAQ device's digital I/O, PFI and other digital lines. This makes it possible to create many different configurations of I/O to fit the needs of your application and measurement requirements.
Engineers who require signal conditioning prior to acquiring a signal from multiple sensor/transducer combinations would find the National Instruments 777458-01 to be very useful. Users can implement functions such as amplifying/attenuating/filtering/isolating each channel using SCC modules. With these functions implemented in this manner, you can ensure that your measurements are both accurate and reliable in a noisy industrial environment. The design of the connector block provides a hinged top cover for easy access to the internal area of the block and secure connections for all signal wires via a strain relief mechanism. All functionality of the National Instruments 777458-01 is fully supported by NI-DAQ driver software and configuration tools, including Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).
