National Instruments SCXI-1140 Differential Amplifier Module

The NI SCXI-1140 (Part Number: 776572-40) is a Simultaneous Sampling Differential Amplifier Module. This module comes featured with 8 channels and connections for the external timing signal. This module is compatible with the NI-DAQmx measurement services software. Therefore, the configuration remains simple and straightforward. This module can be used with the data acquisition boards from the NB Series with LabVIEW for Macintosh. This device can also be used with NI-DAQ software for Macintosh.

This device has 15 V/μsec channel output slew rate and 12 nV/√Hz input noise spectral density, as well as 75 nV/√Hz output noise spectral density. The NI SCXI-1140 can operate with ±10 V maximum output voltage. The NI SCXI-1140 comes with three dedicated jumpers: W11, W13, and W14 for communication between the SCXIbus and the data acquisition board. The SCXI-1140 Differential Amplifier Module comes equipped with DIP switch-programmable instrumentation amplifiers, buffered track-and-hold amplifiers, multiplexers, and output switches.

The input protection of the National Instruments SCXI-1140 features a 1 kΩ resistor in series. Each of this module’s input terminals is protected. The SCXI-1140 comes with four basic types of scanning modes, such as single module parallel and multiplexed scanning. This module has two registers. The ID register is a four-byte register for read-only functionality. On the other hand, the configuration register is a 32-bit write only register. There is a configuration register as well which cannot be accessed by the user. It is a 32-bit register designed to handle control and functions related tasks of the SCXI-1140.

SCXI-1140 End of Life Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
