SCXI-1193, 32-Channel, 500 MHz, RF Multiplexer Switch Module
National Instruments SCXI-1193 RF Multiplexer Switch Module
The NI SCXI-1193 (Part Number: 776572-93) is a high-density, 32-Channel RF Multiplexer Switch Module, which can be arranged as an unterminated multiplexer, externally terminated multiplexer, or dimensionally versatile sparse matrix. Every arrangement can withstand signal frequencies from DC to over 500 MHz. This module has one slot and utilizes high-density push-on MCX connectors for discrete but manageable cabling. This module does not enable directing signals to the high-voltage analog bus. The SCXI-1193 is created to integrate with high-frequency devices, which includes the PXI-5404 Frequency Generator and the PXI-5112 High-Speed Digitizer.
The following topologies are achievable with the SCXI 1193: a Quad 8 x 1 Multiplexer, a Quad 4 x 1 Terminated Multiplexer, a Dual 16 x 1 Multiplexer, a Dual 8 x 1 Terminated Multiplexer, a 32 x 1 Multiplexer, a 16 x 1 Terminated Multiplexer, and an Independent module. This RF Multiplexer Switch Module can be used with several different cables. These cables include: the MCX-MCX cable, the MCX-BNC cable, the MCX-SMB cable, or the MCX-SMA cable. Each of these cables can be purchased in a 0.3 m or 1.0 m length. There is also a 50 Ohm MCX Terminator available. When the 50 Ohm MCX Terminator is on half of the 32 channels, then the user can utilize the module as a terminated multiplexer. The device has a DC power requirement of +5 VDC at 50 mA, +18.5 VDC to +25 VDC at 170 mA, and -18.5 VDC to -25 VDC at 170 mA. The NI SCXI-1193 module has 36 MCX jacks for I/O connectors, 2 SMB jacks for trigger connectors, relays made of silver palladium and gold, and a maximum scan rate of 100 operations per second. The device has an electromechanical latching relay type. The NI device weighs 2 oz, and measures 1.2 x 6.8 x 7.8 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of -20 °C to 70 °C, and a noncondensing humidity range of 5% to 85%.
SCXI-1193 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
