National Instruments VXI-PCI8015 VXIbus Interface Kit

The VXI-PCI8015 (Part Numbers: 777119-02 and 777119-32) is an advanced VXIbus Interface Kit. The manufacturer of the NI VXI-PCI8015 kit is National Instruments. The VXI-PCI8015 is specifically designed for PCI-based systems. The VXI-PCI8015 uses a high-speed MXI-2 bus for interfacing. The NI VXI-PCI8015 can directly link a VXIbus to the PCI-based computer. The VXI-PCI8015 is a transparent kit which means that computer operates as it has been directly linked into the VXI backplane. This feature provides the capability of an embedded computer to the external computer.

This VXIbus Interface Kit comes with integrated software. This integrated software has intuitive tools that are useful and make the process of troubleshooting and debugging VXI systems easy. Another important feature of the National Instruments VXI-PCI8015 is VXIplug&play compliance. The supported operating system for the VXI-PCI8015 is Windows. The driver software of the NI VXI-PCI8015 are NI-VISA and NI-VXI. This software comes included with the kit. NI-VXI and NI-VISA have a VXIbus Interface library that supports several programming compilers. The VXI-PCI8015 also supports other application software which includes LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, and LabWindows/CVI.

This VXIbus Interface Kit includes different components, which include a PCI plug-in board, one VXI-MXI-2 module, the PCI-MXI-2, a flexible MXI-2 cable, and driver software. The MITE ASIC can be incorporated on the MXI-2 devices by using the VXI-PCI8015 kit. MITE is a superior technology and can achieve a burst speed of data transfer up to 33 MB/sec. for sustained throughput; data can be transferred up to 23 MB/sec.   

VXI-PCI8015 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the VXIbus Interface Kit will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
