Keysight N1913A Single Channel Power Meter
The Keysight N1913A is an average modern power meter designed to offer reliable RF power measurements in demanding industrial environments. It is a multifunctional replacement for the legacy E4418B/19B models and supports a wide frequency range of DC to 120 GHz, having a dynamic range of power from –70 to +44 dBm, depending on the sensor used. Its advanced design, combined with complex calibration methods, enables it to offer accurate measurements with an absolute accuracy of ±0.02 dB in logarithmic mode and ±0.5% in linear mode, while relative measurements reach accuracies of ±0.04 dB or ±1% for linear measurements.
N1913A has been designed to interface with modern automated test systems and offers options of connectivity, including LAN LXI-C and USB, as well as the ability to increase measurement capabilities by adding additional USB-based sensors. Such flexibility enables effective test processes and reduces downtime tied to system upgrades. Additionally, the instrument is built to be backward compatible with previous versions of E4418/19B power meters and 436A/37B/38A series so that existing setups can be transferred transparently and previous calibration data is not lost.
The instrument is capable of automated frequency and power sweeps via an optional external trigger interface, which is well-suited to complex test sequences and high-frequency product characterization. Additionally, the integrated BenchVue Basic Power Meter/Sensor Control and Analysis Application offers simple connection, operation, and automation of test procedures. It comes with a backlit color LCD screen, where operators have a quick and easy way of presenting and reading measurements, which suits it well to be used in the metrology labs, in the production environment, as well as field service.
The N1913A is constructed to withstand demanding RF test requirements and provides performance with high speed measurements of up to 400 measurements per second when used with compatible E-Series sensors. It is an ideal addition to any industrial automation engineer's toolkit with its small size and modern interface options for stable and rapid power-measurement capability.
