Featuring integrated Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) technology, the chassis supports any combination of C Series I/O modules for analog input/output, digital I/O, counter/timers, and direct sensor measurements. The analog input subsystem incorporates a 127-sample FIFO buffer per module slot, driven by internal base clocks (80 MHz, 20 MHz, 13.1072 MHz, 12.8 MHz, 10 MHz, and 100 kHz) with a sample rate timing accuracy of 50 ppm.
Digital I/O and timing engine performance supports finite digital waveform sampling from 0 MHz to 10 MHz with a matching timing accuracy of 50 ppm. In addition, the chassis integrates four 32-bit general-purpose counter/timers capable of edge counting, pulse, semi-period, period, and pulse-width measurements, as well as angular position decoding (X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoding with channel Z reloading). A dedicated frequency generator channel operates off 20 MHz, 10 MHz, or 100 kHz base clocks with integer divisors (1 to 16) to generate pulse trains and frequency division outputs routed to any chassis or module PFI terminal.
Power is delivered via a heavy-duty screw terminal connector accepting 0.2 to 2.1 mm² (24 to 14 AWG) copper wire stripped to 6 mm, with a connector temperature rating of 85 °C. Secure mechanical mounting is ensured by screw terminal fasteners (0.20 to 0.25 N·m torque) and dual screw flanges (0.3 to 0.4 N·m torque) that lock the power assembly against vibration. Engineered for extreme operating environments from -40 °C to 70 °C, the conformal-coated cDAQ-9189 provides tight sub-microsecond synchronization across daisy-chained network topologies for demanding industrial data acquisition systems.
