Moreover, it performs Slot 0-related services of the VXIbus as well. These Slot 0 and RM functions of the GPIB-VXI can be put on a defeat if the user wants to operate with another RM. The National Instruments GPIB-VXI GPIB Interface is designed to fully comply with VXIbus specifications. This model has three programmable VXIbus interrupt handlers and 4 MB of dual-ported memory.
This GPIB Interface can execute specially designed software modules called Code Instruments. The front panel of the GPIB-VXI contains five connectors: Serial port, Trigger input, Trigger output, GPIB interface, and External CLK10 I/O. Moreover, a configurable reset pushbutton is provided that can be configured to reset the backplane, GPIB-VXI, or both. The amount of ROM in the NI GPIB-VXI can be adjusted from 512 KB to 1 MB. This unit is shipped to operate with 512 KB of EPRROM. The EPROM is used for the storage and operating the device’s firmware. However, four additional sockets are also provided for EPROM expansion.
