National Instruments 779422-01 Multifunction I/O Device
The part number 779422-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PCI-6132 Multifunction I/O Device. This multifunction data acquisition device features 4 analog input channels with a 14-bit resolution which ensures accurate and precise data acquisition of analog signals which are then converted into high-resolution digital formats for further processing. This module can sample 2.5 Mega samples per second making this module great for faster data acquisition and processing.
To help reduce signal distortion and noise, the 779422-01 module features a 100 MΩ input impedance with a 10 pF capacitor in parallel which acts as a low pass filter to prevent high-frequency noise from affecting the input data signals. For steady signal measurements, the 779422-01 Multifunction I/O Device supports DC input coupling allowing the device to measure both AC and DC components of the input signal.
This DAQ device also features 8 digital input channels which are compatible with the TTL/CMOS logic levels which helps interface this module with other digital devices. The module is also equipped with two 24-bit up/down counters which are used to perform counting functions in ascending or descending sequence. This module also features one 4-bit frequency scaler which helps increase the module processing frequency helping it perform its tasks faster. The counters operate at a base frequency of 100 KHz or 20 MHz, while the scaler operates at either 10 MHz frequency or 100 KHz frequency.
For data transferring, this Multifunction I/O module supports DMA, interrupts, and programmed I/O for high-speed and efficient data handling. To enable high data throughput each input and output buffer has a capacity of 2,044 bytes. To operate this module, it requires a 5-volt DC supply with short circuit protection to ground capable of sourcing a current of up to 1 Ampere. It is recommended to operate this module safely in an environment with a temperature between 0 degrees Celsius and 50 degrees Celsius. Since this module is designed for PXI-based systems, it has the dimensions of a standard PXI module and weighs approximately 200 grams making it light and compact.
