NI part number 776570-07 represents the variation of the SCXI-1000 Signal Conditioning Chassis with 4 slots that will accept input voltage from a variety of AC sources (100VAC, 120VAC, 220VAC, 240VAC) at either 50Hz or 60Hz. Designed for industrial data acquisition systems, the chassis uses one of seven different user-selectable power configurations to make this product suitable for global deployment and easy reconfiguration in the field by simply changing the power source rather than the hardware. Additionally, the robust design and low noise characteristics of this chassis provide a reliable solution for use in both laboratory and manufacturing processes as well as industrial process control applications where accurate measurements are required.
The SCXI bus, a shielded analog and digital backplane that automatically connects any SCXI module introduced into the chassis, is the central component of the chassis. The SCXI bus facilitates autonomous signal routing through the chassis, data transfer between modules, module programming control, and temporal synchronization between the chassis and associated DAQ devices. All activity on the SCXIbus is controlled by the on-board control electronics while performing analog I/O operations to maintain proper coordination between modules and support channel scanning at a rate of up to 333 ks/sec/channel per DAQ device regardless of whether the 776570-07 is being operated independently or as part of a larger multi-chassis setup.
One area where the 776570-07 excels is its ability to grow. Multiple units of AC chassis can be "daisy-chained" together to expand the total number of channels available to a single multifunction DAQ device or NI E series board. There is no need to reprogram each individual unit since they are treated like a single entity by the NI-DAQ or NI-SWITCH software drivers. This means that the exact same set of function calls that would be used when working with a standalone DAQ device can also be used when working with the entire SCXI system. Therefore, the 776570-07 is an excellent long-term solution for test and measurement applications that require flexibility and growth over time.
