National Instruments SCXI-1313 High-Voltage Attenuator Terminal Block

The SCXI-1313 (Part Number: 777687-13) is a Shielded Terminal Block designed for optimal use with the SCXI-1125 module. Every channel on the SCXI 1313 has a precision 100:1 resistive voltage divider that the user can utilize to measure voltages to 300 VRMS maximum or ±300 VDC with the use of the SCXI-1125. For low-voltage measurement applications, the user can separately bypass the dividers. There are 18 screw terminals on the NI SCXI-1313 Terminal Block which allow simple signal connection. One pair of screw terminals links to the SCXI-1125 module chassis ground. The other eight pairs of screw terminals link signals to the eight analog inputs.

The user can enable or disable the attenuator on the NI SCXI 1313 by altering the standard configuration settings for the Terminal Block in Measurement & Automation Explorer. The other option is for the user to alter the input limit ranges in their application. If the user is utilizing virtual channels, then the input limits configured in the virtual channel configurator are utilized to designate the attenuation circuitry correctly.

The Terminal Block is run using the NIDAQmx driver software which is compatible with software packages or application development environments such as LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI. The device can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.

The SCXI-1313 Terminal Block has a temperature sensor that can output 1.91 to 0.65 V in a temperature range of 0 to 50 °C. If the user is utilizing LabVIEW, they can take advantage of the Convert Thermistor Reading. The user should utilize many samples to acquire the most precise reading possible. Loud conditions necessitate a larger number of samples to ensure preciseness.

The NI device weighs 7 oz, and measures 7.000 x 3.125 x 1.200 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10 to 90%. The SCXI-1313 is designed to comply with the following electrical safety standards: IEC 61010-1, UL 3111-1, and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1.

SCXI-1313 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Terminal Block will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
