Keysight/Agilent E6432A VXI Microwave Synthesizer
A VXI microwave synthesizer, the Keysight/Agilent E6432A operates between 10 MHz and 20 GHz. The model accurately tracks the installed time base and provides a frequency resolution of 1 Hz. The synthesizer's frequency switching time is less than 350 µs, and its average performance is less than 150 µs. It is made to generate high-performance microwave frequency signals in challenging industrial and defense test settings. This synthesizer's operational scope includes the testing of satellite systems and broadband digital communications.
The output power on the microwave synthesizer ranges from – 20 to + 17 dBm in the standard configuration. The output power range extends significantly from – 90 to + 16 dBm with option 1E1 installed. The maximum leveled output power reaches + 17 dBm across 10 MHz to 2 GHz in the standard configuration. For the 2 GHz to 20 GHz band, the option UNF increases the maximum leveled output to + 20 dBm. The VXI Microwave Synthesizer has an output power resolution of 0.02 dB and a vernier precision of ± 0.5 dB between -10 and +10 dBm. For fast level changes, the output switching time is less than 50 µs throughout the whole ALC range. The output switching time extends to under 20 ms with an attenuator step change. The external ALC range of the synthesizer extends to 40 dB for flexible output level control.
The microwave synthesizer supports AM modulation with a standard depth specification of – 20 dBm in normal mode. In deep mode, the AM depth reaches 50 dB below the maximum output power level. The AM rate extends from DC to 250 kHz typically and AM accuracy remains within 7% of depth. These modulation parameters support diverse amplitude modulation requirements in microwave test and measurement environments. The pulse modulation on the E6432A operates across the 2 GHz to 20 GHz RF range. The on/off ratio exceeds 80 dB and the PRF range spans from 10 Hz to 10 MHz. The rise and fall times are below 10 ns with a minimum leveled pulse width of 3.0 µs.
