Keysight E1459A Isolated Digital Input/Interrupt
The Keysight E1459A Isolated Digital Input/Interrupt VXI module has 64 channels and is designed for use in industrial automation and testing environments. This C-size, register-based, single-slot module can detect edge transitions up to 48 Vdc and sense DC levels. The module's 64 optically separated channels provide significant protection and a guarantee that it can withstand up to 125 V rms or Vdc, making it an excellent choice for applications requiring high isolation and noise immunity.
With the programmable debounce feature of the E1459A, users may choose debounce intervals in binary increments ranging from 16 microseconds to 1074 seconds. The module's versatility allows it to consistently and precisely filter out false signals or noise, which produces accurate measurements of the input. For two distinct channel groups—1 to 32 and 33 to 64—the debounce period can be specially configured, offering additional versatility for certain applications.
To help with the detection of open or closed states in external switches, this module has an integrated 5 V supply with an effective pull-up resistance of 9.4 kΩ. Where accurate status detection is essential, this capability is particularly useful for controlling and monitoring external devices. With its varied input levels that can be selected with a jumper to accommodate a variety of applications, the E1459A is versatile enough to work with a variety of signal types and voltages.
The E1459A's channels are all TTL compliant and have a maximum logic level of 5 V. The module guarantees quick and effective data processing with register access, enabling 16-bit read times as quick as 1 ms. The strobe-in lines of the module can also be connected in parallel to enable 32- or 64-bit transfers, which improves data handling capabilities.
Installation and maintenance are made simple by the E1459A's screw-type terminal modules, which are replaceable and can handle wire diameters up to 16 AWG. It is intended to be used as a register-based, A16, slave-only device in VXI systems. It connects via P1/P2 connectors and takes up one C-size slot. Maintaining a simplified architecture with an emphasis on interrupt and digital input, the module excludes shared memory and VXI buses.
