National Instruments NI-5781 Transceiver Adapter Module for FlexRIO

The National Instruments NI-5781 (Part Number: 781267-01) is a Transceiver Adapter Module for FlexRIO systems. This 40 MHz Bandwidth device is an analog, dual-input, and dual-output module designed to interface with baseband to RF up-converters and down-converters. The maximum analog input sampling and analog output update rate achievable with this device is 100 MS/s. When the user couples the NI-5781 with a compatible PXI FPGA Module, the resulting system is a reconfigurable I/O baseband. This system can be used for the implementation of custom RF modulation, custom RF demodulation, bit error rate testing, channel emulation, or spectral monitoring or jamming.

For inline processing and high-speed control applications, it is possible to utilize the high throughput and low latency of FPGA-based processing offered by the NI 5781. This Transceiver Adapter Module is compatible with Virtex-5 FPGAs and supports DC input coupling. The NI-5781 features 2 differential simultaneously sampled channels designed to operate at a fixed 2 Vpk-pk input range in differential mode and fixed 1 Vpk-pk input range in single-ended mode.

This module comes with MCX type analog input connectors. Each connector can provide ±2 V absolute maximum input, with an input impedance is 50 Ω per connector. The National Instruments NI-5781 module comes equipped with a multistage, differential pipelined architecture, 14-bit resolution, and dual ADC. This module has elliptic filters available. The NI 5781 supports NI-RIO device drivers, LabVIEW software, and has the option to be used with a LabVIEW Real-Time Module.
