The National Instruments 781395-01 (PXI-8364) is an MXI-Express daisy-chain copper interface module engineered to function as a high-speed PXI bus extension interface. Designed to connect a target PXI chassis directly to a host PC or PXI controller via a cabled PCI Express connection, the module allows engineers to build multi-chassis test systems controlled from a single host computer. Power is drawn directly from the PXI backplane across multiple voltage rails, including a typical current draw of 420 mA at 3.3 V (650 mA maximum), 13 mA at 5 V (15 mA maximum), 10 mA at 12 V (12 mA maximum), and up to 1 mA maximum on the VIO rail (-12 V rail draws 0 mA). The passive pass-through architecture optimizes backplane power distribution, leaving primary chassis power available for high-density measurement and generation modules.
Built for dependable deployment in demanding automated test environments, the PXI-8364 operates across an ambient temperature range of 0 °C to 55 °C (-40 °C to 70 °C storage) with relative humidity tolerances of 10% to 90% non-condensing (5% to 95% non-condensing during storage). Safety and environmental ratings include Pollution Degree 2 compliance for indoor operational altitudes up to 2,000 meters. Mechanical durability is validated to withstand operational shocks of 30 g peak (11 ms half-sine pulse) and non-operational shocks up to 50 g peak, ensuring structural and electrical integrity in rugged production and industrial test environments.
