National Instruments SCXI-1331 Terminal Block

The SCXI 1331 (Part Number: 777687-31) Terminal Block mounts to the front of an SCXI-1127 or SCXI-1128 Multiplexer/Matrix Switch Module, providing 64 screw terminals for connections. The SCXI-1331 is the best choice when utilizing the SCXI-1127 or SCXI-1128 to scan thermocouple of voltage signals or when the user requires a matrix configuration besides 8 columns x 4 rows. The SCXI 1331 can configure the SCXI-1127/1128 Switch Module as a 64 x 1, 1-wire matrix, a 32 x 1, 2-wire matrix, or a 16 x 1, 4-wire matrix. This General-Purpose Terminal Block is designed for signal conditioning and cold-junction compensation. The NI SCXI-1331 is suggested for multiplexer or customized matrix applications. It has a maximum voltage of 300 V (CAT II) and a maximum current of 2 ADC, 2 AAC (per channel).

The 64 screw terminals on the NI SCXI-1331 Terminal Block enable the user to access the matrices. The Terminal Block additionally has terminals for external trigger signals. When the user is ready to connect signals to the SCXI-1331, they must first prepare the signal wire by stripping the insulation (no more than 7 mm from the end of the wire). Then, take the top cover screw off and take off the top cover. The user can then loosen the two strain-relief screws on the strain-relief bar and run the signal wires through the strain-relief opening. Next, put the stripped end of the wire completely into the terminal and secure the wire by tightening the screw of the terminal. The user can then link the safety earth ground to the safety ground lug and tighten the two screws on the strain-relief assembly to make sure the cables are secure. Lastly, reinstall the top cover and put the top cover screw back.

The NI device has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 °C to 50 °C, a storage temperature range of –20 °C to 70 °C, and a non-condensing relative humidity range of 10% to 90%. It is designed to comply with the following safety standards for electrical equipment: - IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, - UL 61010-1, and - CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1.

The SCXI-1331 is available to be calibrated. While the recommended calibration period for individual parts varies, most parts should be calibrated either annually or every two years to ensure accuracy. If you need the SCXI-1331 calibrated, Apex Waves provides options. We offer high-quality NIST accredited calibrations through a 3rd party, with an average turnaround time of 1 to 2 weeks. When you order the SCXI-1331 with us, you can request basic (unaccredited) in-house calibration that will calibrate the part to the manufacturer specifications prior to being shipped. Call or email us today for more information about calibrating the SCXI-1331!
