National Instruments SCXI-1349 Shielded Cable Adapter

The SCXI-1349 (Part Number: 182671-01) is created for linking an SCXI system to a data acquisition device. The SCXI-1349 Cable Adapter joins a 68-pin E Series DAQ Device (minus the 61XXE models), to an SCXI module (except the SCXI switch modules). This model has three connectors. First, on the front panel, there is a 68-pin male connector. Next, on the printed-circuit board, there is a 50-pin male breakout connector. Lastly, on the back of the Adapter, there is a 50-pin bracket-mounted female connector.

The National Instruments SCXI-1349 requires several items to be utilize: a computer, a 68-pin E Series DAQ Device, an SCXI-1000, SCXI-1001, or SCXI-1000DC Chassis, a minimum of one SCXI module (not an SCXI switch module), a small flathead screwdriver, the installation guide, and the NI SCXI-1349 shielded cable assembly, which consists of the cable adapter and a 68-pin shielded cable. The SCXI-1349 can be used with a 1 m or 2 m SH68-68-EP shielded cable to connect E Series devices to an SCXI chassis. The other options are to use a 0.5 m or 1 m SHC68-68-EP cable or a 1 m PSHR68-68 cable to connect a DAQCard to an SCXI chassis.

The user must ensure that every signal connection is insulated to the maximum voltage that the NI SCXI 1349 can encounter. Power signals to ground and other connections that go over the maximum signal ratings on the National Instruments SCXI-1349 Cable Adapter may cause a shock or fire hazard. This can also result in harm to the boards connected to the SCXI chassis, the computer, or the SCX device.

SCXI-1349 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Cable Adapter will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
