Keysight/Agilent N2261A General Purpose Relay Module
The Keysight N2261A, formerly from the manufacturer Agilent, is a General Purpose Relay Module with 40 channels that has a thermal offset below 3 microvolts during operation. This low thermal offset supports measurement paths where small voltage errors must be controlled. The Initial closed channel resistance is below 0.5 ohms for each relay path. The Keysight N2261A supports high speed switching when channels operate in parallel across automated test sequences. Its maximum scan rate reaches 80 channels per second for structured multipoint switching tasks. The driving circuits (parallel) in the model enable 10 channels to simultaneously work to increase throughput. The design is used to minimize the switching time in manufacturing setups with repetitive test cycles.
This general purpose relay module supports SCPI mode and 3488A operating mode. This compatibility allows integration with existing Keysight switching systems and legacy control environments. The module can operate in single channel break before make switching for controlled signal transfer. It also supports multiple channel open and close operation when several relay states must change. The N2261A provides built in relay cycle counters for tracking contact usage over time. The mechanical relay life is rated at 100 million operations under specified operating conditions. The electrical relay life is rated at 500,000 operations with a 1 A load. Forty independent relays are included in one module of the model. Each channel can switch up to 200 V with a 1 A channel rating.
The relay module uses armature latching relays to maintain stable contact states during operation. Each channel of the model supports single pole single throw control for routing power or discrete control signals.
