National Instruments PXI-1050 PXI Chassis

Featured with 8 PXI Slots and 4 SCXI slots, the PXI-1050 (Part Numbers: 779199-01, 779199-02, 779199-03, and 779199-04) is a PXI Chassis manufactured by National Instruments. This PXI/SCXI Combination Chassis is an ideal solution for PXI measurement systems where additional signal conditioning, such as switching, isolation, filtering, and multiplexing is required. The PXI section of this chassis can accept a remote or an embedded controller and a variety of PXI modules like digital I/O or multifunction I/O. The remaining four SCXI slots can facilitate seamless integration of signal conditioning modules into a PXI based system. These modules offer isolation and other functions in addition to their primary analog and digital input conditioning functions. The SCXI slots also supply a low-noise environment for varying functions such as supplying power, signal conditioning for the SCXI modules. The NI PXI 1050 provides signal conditioning and high-accuracy measurements in a single chassis.

The PXI 1050 has diverse features such as a fuse, backplane fuses, a circuit breaker (which protect both the operator and the system in the event of a fault), fans and filters-which cool the device and minimizes contamination by dirt.

A variety of software packages and documentation can be used to set up the PXI-1050 chassis. They are: BridgeVIEW, ComponentWorks, LabVIEW for Windows, LabWindows/CVI for windows, Measure, NI-DAQ for PC compatibles, VirtualBench.

To obtain a high channel count arrangement, the user can always daisy-chain additional chassis to the NI PXI-1050 Chassis. Since the PXI-1050 is a powerful combination of plug-in devices, signal conditioning, and computer in one Chassis, it is ideal for applications with limited rack-mount space. This PXI Chassis has a unique structural design and is fully compatible with the PXI Specification (Rev. 2.1). Thus, the user can implement synchronization and advanced timing features as well. The PXI 1050 Chassis is designed to operate with 100, 120, 220, or 240 VAC line voltages, depending on the part number. Part number 779199-01 is 120 VAC, part number 779199-02 is 100 VAC, part number 779199-03 is 220 VAC, and part number 779199-04 is 240 VAC. The power entry mode features a dedicated voltage selection wheel that determines the voltage level for which the chassis is configured. For adequate module cooling, a cooling system comprised of two fans is incorporated, which works on forced air circulation technology.

PXI-1050 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the Chassis will still be available for purchase and repairs at Apex Waves.
