Keysight E1463A VXI Switch
The Form C, 32-Channel, 5 Amp Keysight E1463A VXI Switch is a multifunctional C-sized single-slot module designed for use with VXIbus systems. This module may be used for a variety of tasks, including process control, appliance testing, and on/off control. It is best suited for power-switching applications that need up to 5 amps of current per channel. It is described as a VXIbus instrument that functions independently with a unique secondary address and dedicated resources including error queues, input/output buffers, and status registers when placed in a VXIbus mainframe or command module. This arrangement allows for efficient signal management and data handling across a variety of industrial automation tasks.
The Keysight QUIC screw terminal block and non-latching relays of the E1463A switch module simplify wiring and connection tasks. Varistors, MOVs, and fuses are among the additional circuit protection components that the module's architecture allows for on its main board but not on the terminal block itself. This adaptability makes it possible to customize the module to meet particular requirements, which improves the system's robustness and dependability in harsh settings. For more customization for specialized applications, optional solder eye connectors are also offered.
For applications involving precise signal switching and scanning, the E1463A's capacity to create low thermal offset voltage—typically less than 3 µV—is an essential feature. Because of this low offset, the module is very good at preserving signal integrity across all of its channels and causes little interference with sensitive measurements.
User inputs up to 125 Vdc or 250 Vrms can be received by the module, which has a maximum power capacity of 150 Wdc or 1250 VA per channel. With a maximum switching power of 1500 Wdc or 12500 VA per module, the E1463A offers robust power handling capabilities for a wide range of applications. In order to accommodate digital output applications, external pull-up resistors can be added to the switch design as needed. Additionally, a switchbox instrument including multiple E1463A modules can be assembled and controlled by a single interface address via Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI).
