National Instruments PXI-1010 PXI Chassis

The PXI-1010 Chassis (Part Numbers: 777570-01, 777570-02, 777570-03, 777570-04, 777570-05, 777570-06, 777570-07, 184826D-16) by National Instruments has 8 PXI slots, 4 SCXI slots, and can be operated in both parallel and multiplexed SCXI modes. This Chassis is a combination of a PXI backplane with an SCXI backplane, acting as a full solution for challenging data acquisition and switching applications with a combined total of 12 slots. The NI PXI-1010 allows the user to choose from many types of instrumentation, switching, data acquisition, image acquisition, motion control PXI modules, RTDs, thermocouples, and more. In addition, modules can be added for digital I/O, programmatic filtering, and isolated current or voltage output. Input channels can be multiplexed over the SCXI backplane for more channels in a system. Furthermore, more SCXI Chassis can be daisy-chained to result in systems with an even larger number of channels.

The NI PXI-1010 is well-suited for benchtop applications because it has rubber feet that can easily be taken off. This model is also simple to utilize for embedded applications since there are mounting points on both sides of the PXI-1010 Chassis. The mounting points can additionally be used to attach an optional rack-mount kit or to recess the PXI-1010 in an instrument cabinet. These different configurations can be accomplished without needing to access the inside of the chassis. The device has an output power of up to 300 W, an input voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC, and an operating voltage range of 90 to 264 VAC.

There are two different types of software to choose from for the NI PXI-1010 Chassis including: NI-DAQ, National Instruments application software or register-level programming. By utilizing the National Instruments application software (LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, ComponentWorks, and VirtualBench), the user will experience a considerable decrease in their development time for information acquisition and control applications. The NI device weighs 29 lb, and measures 16.2 x 17.3 x 7.0 in. in physical dimensions. It has a recommended operating temperature range of 0 to 50 °C, and a storage temperature range of –20 to 70 °C

PXI-1010 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
