National Instruments 776573-26 High-Voltage Terminal Block
For your SCXI-based data collection system, the NI 776573-26 is a 48-terminal SCXI-1326 high-voltage screw terminal block that provides an easy connection solution for your digital I/O channels. By attaching to the back of the SCXI-1162, SCXI-1162HV, SCXI-1163, or SCXI-1163R module, this terminal block easily supplies digital input and/or output signal connections. The NI 776573-26 has been tested to withstand up to 300 volts (Category II) from pin-to-pin. It is specifically designed to attach directly to the front connector of the above-listed modules. This makes the terminal block the perfect add-on for use in large-channel-count applications involving voltage and/or temperature measurements in industrial and test environments.
The NI 776573-26 is organized by grouping its 48 screw terminals into 8 electrically isolated groups of six. Each group includes a VCC terminal, a GND terminal, and four channel terminals. The functions of the terminals across these groups are module-dependent. When paired with the SCXI-1162, VCC carries power/reference voltage, and the channel terminals carry digital input signals while GND is unused. In this configuration with the SCXI-1162HV, GND acts as the ground reference, and the channel terminals carry input signals while VCC is left open. All terminals are active when used with the SCXI-1163; the VCC terminal supplies 5V ±0.5V referenced to GND, and the channel terminals carry digital output signals. When used with the SCXI-1163R, GND acts as a common pole, and the channel terminals connect to relay inputs. Common mode isolation between banks and between banks & earth ground is 300VRMS. The NI 776573-26 operates from 0°C to 50°C and stores from -20°C to 70°C.
Installation of the 776573-26 requires several items: the installation guide provided by National Instruments for the SCXI-1326, a suitable SCXI chassis, a compatible SCXI module(s), and some basic hand tools such as flathead and Phillips head screwdrivers, needle-nose pliers, wire cutters, and an insulation stripping tool. The 776573-26 also includes an integrated strain relief bar and safety ground solder lug in order to provide secure field wiring mounting capabilities along with protection of signal integrity within a completely enclosed and shielded housing.
