NI Test & Measurement Equipment

NI test and measurement equipment connects real-world signals with the software engineers use to evaluate performance, diagnose faults, and automate verification. National Instruments hardware supports applications ranging from laboratory experiments and production testing to long-running aerospace and industrial systems. Selecting the right equipment starts with the measurement: what must be captured, how accurately, how quickly, and under which operating conditions.

For general data acquisition, NI offers multifunction devices across USB, PCI, PCI Express, PXI, and PXI Express interfaces. Software is equally important. NI-DAQmx supports compatible acquisition devices, while NI-DMM, NI-SCOPE, NI-FGEN, and NI-SWITCH address their respective instrument families. LabVIEW supports measurement application development, and TestStand manages test sequences and reporting. Hardware, operating system, driver, and application versions must align; installing the newest driver is not automatically the right solution for an older test station.

Before purchasing replacements or expanding a system, compare signal ranges, channel counts, bandwidth, resolution, isolation, connector types, and synchronization requirements. Confirm chassis slot compatibility and required cables or terminal blocks. A matching model name alone may not identify every memory, connector, or hardware variant. Review calibration history and specify the required service level before ordering, especially when measurements support regulated processes or tightly controlled product acceptance tests.
